Acupuncture for Multiple Sclerosis (MS)

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and Lou Gehrig’s disease (ALS) are incurable diseases. And yet, we have experience in treating these two diseases. My first patient was a 70 year old Caucasian female with ALS who was unable to move her extremities upon initial consultation with me. She was experiencing difficulty swallowing and talking at the time. After treatment, she was able to regain strength in her limbs and saw improvement in speech and swallowing.

The second patient in this case series was a white female in her thirties suffering from both arthritis and MS and she experienced a lot of pain. Consequently, she’d been on steroids to control her symptoms for one year. Especially concerning were the splitting headaches, such that it seemed to her as if the room was spinning. Each day was a struggle. After long-term steroid use, she complained of heart problems and acid reflux such that she had to discontinue her steroid use. In western medical science, steroids are akin to nuclear weapons; diseases refractory to steroid treatment can’t receive further treatment. She came to my clinic through the recommendation of her doctor.

After reviewing her medical history and a physical examination, I diagnosed her with yang failure and retention of poisonous waters. I treated her with a regimen of herbal medications and she improved dramatically. After treatment, she was like a new person.

This lady has a history of eating cold things. She prefers ice water and raw vegetables. Also, she never kept a regular schedule. After years of this, her kidney yang energies were depleted. The basis of life itself was shaken in her and coldness took root within. The result of which was demyelination. The TCM interpretation is that the brain is a space of pure yang and can only be harmed by coldness. Her arthritis was also a symptom of the damage to her yang energies.

According to the Yellow Emperor Internal Medicine: Wind, Cold, Wet cannot harm people individually. The place where disease is apparent is where the qi is weak. The root of all disease is weakness in qi or deficiency in yang.

Our proprietary treatment for these diseases consists of energy repletion along with herbal remedies. Energy repletion affects both post and pre-natal energies to harmonize yin and yang to great effect..

Rheumatoid Arthritis and Multiple sclerosis

My name is Catherine Smith, and I have been a patient of Dr. Frank Huo for 2 years. I started seeing Dr. Huo for two conditions. Rheumatoid Arthritis diagnosed 5 years ago, and Multiple sclerosis diagnosed  3 years ago.

At the time I started to see  Dr. Huo I was on prednisone (steroids) for 3 years  ranging from 3 mg a day for the arthritis to 60 mg a day  for the MS  symptoms. For the swelling and pain that I would have from the arthritis it was impossible to go more then 3 days with out the steroids, I would be in pain and have swelling of my fingers  and feeling very fatigued .

The symptoms from the MS that I would have would be  severe headache that would last for weeks, with dizziness that I could not work or even try to have a normal day. I also would always be tired and fatigued no matter how much I  would rest , and I would get  numbness into my face. I was not able to tolerate the heat I would get so dizzy I felt I would pass out.

Since the terrible uncurable conditions came into my life , I did not have a normal life, I was depressed about  my future and I really felt I was going to die. The steroids I was taking already had made my bones osteopenia and I was getting palpitations   when I took them and there seemed to be no end or hope for me. Then one day I heard of Dr. Huo from a Dr. Cohen who tried to help me, but felt I should consult Dr. Huo due to the conditions I had  he felt Dr. Huo would be the one to try to help me.

Since I have been under Dr. Huo treatment and guidance my life has completely changed.  I am not the same person I was when I had started with Dr. Huo .  I feel so much better and my life is so much better . I do not take any steroids  or any other drugs for either of my conditions. Dr. Huo treatments were able to get me completely off steroids, it has now been almost 2 years off these drugs. I very rarely get any headaches, and if I do they are not so bad ,and go away  within a day. I also very rarely get slight swelling in my fingers.

I must say I am forever gratful for what Dr. Huo has done for me, with his knowledge to be able to treat me as he did and improve my health and life which he has done is amazing. My medical Dr. has seen the change in me from what Dr.Huo has done, and he tells me keep doing what ever your doing , My  Multiple sclerosis is stable and shows no worsening  it its in remission,and the arthritis minimally bothers me. I feel I do have a very hopefull future now, and I am enjoying life.
